Floristic Diversity of Ruderal and Neglected Habitats in Hail City, Saudi Arabia

Author : Dr. Fatma AbdAllah Mohamed Hamada

Abstract :This study presents a comprehensive floristic analysis for the ruderal and neglected habitats in Hail City and its environs as it was critical to understand and define the native and the introduced species to manage invasive species in this part of northern Saudi Arabia. The study documented the number of 236 vascular plant species across 38 families representing 155 genera with the dominance of the Poaceae, Asteraceae, and Brassicaceae as representative families for the flora of this region, reflecting a specific vegetation variety. This research provides critical baseline data for future ecological and conservation efforts in the Arabian Peninsula.
