Vision Excellence Quotient for Universities extending Human Excellence Quotient of Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence
Author : Sai Krishna Rachiraju
Abstract : The Vision Excellence Quotient (VEQ) is proposed as a conceptual framework for examining the degree to which the students internalize and express the vision of their institution. The model emerges from the Human Excellence Quotient (HEQ), a framework already in active use at Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence. VEQ seeks to translate an institution’s vision into a form that can be meaningfully assessed and interpreted. Although Outcome based Education (OBE) has been central to evaluating academic attainment in higher education, VEQ introduces complementary perspectives by assessing the values and dispositions through which students embody an institution’s ideals. To illustrate its applicability, this paper presents a hypothetical case of implementation at the Hypothetical University for Sustainability and Innovation (HUSI), demonstrating how a vision-based assessment framework can be adapted across diverse institutional contexts. This discussion highlights the broader scope for extending the principles of HEQ beyond their original environment.
