DIGITAL WORKFLOW IN PROSTHODONTICS: REDEFINING ACCURACY, EFFICIENCY, AND PATIENT CARE

Abstract : Background: Digital technologies have significantly transformed contemporary prosthodontics through the integration of intraoral scanners, computer-aided design (CAD), and computer-aided fabrication (CAM). Digital workflows enhance restorative accuracy, clinical efficiency, communication between clinicians and laboratories, and overall patient experience. Objective: This poster highlights the complete digital workflow in prosthodontics, including digital data acquisition, virtual restoration design, CAD/CAM fabrication, and final restoration delivery. Discussion: Compared with conventional techniques, digital workflows reduce clinical time, improve predictability, and support minimally invasive treatment approaches. Despite these advantages, challenges such as high initial costs, learning curves, and software compatibility remain important considerations. Conclusion: Ongoing technological advancements are expected to further expand the role of digital dentistry in modern prosthodontic practice
