Features about the European Water Policy analysis and its resilience:A sustainable pathfor Saudi Arabia based on the Path4Med project

Author : Ana Pego, Mohammad Hadad

Abstract : Water is one of the most important resources on Earth. It provides sustainable value for populations and contributes to the resilience of its use. The capacity for water resources management and its connections to European countries are consistent with natural resource efficiency, as well as with the ability to promote a new path for sustainable use in areas where it is needed for social and economic development. This article is based on water policy analysis conducted in the countries participating in the Path4Med Project. This analysis forms the basis for a new policy path elsewhere, including in Saudi Arabia. The article is also a useful tool for understanding the potential of water resources and their use in the agricultural sector in Saudi Arabia, as this sector is one of the most important in the economy. The sustainable lessons from Path4Med can serve as a foundation for policymakers in the long term, as well as a guide for Saudi Arabia or other countries with similar needs.
